Celebrating 20 years of MDH Accounting

In 2025 we are celebrating 20 years in business! What an incredible milestone as we reflect on the highs and lows of the journey so far.

What started as Michael working away on a small group of clients in a spare room in his home has now grown into a dynamic team focused on helping small businesses thrive.

Our team love what we do and it was a great moment to celebrate the last 20 years at the Tailrace Centre with our clients, family, friends and supporters.

Reflections on the last 20 years from Michael…

Being in business can be relentless, always problem solving and finding the next thing to work on, the next project.

It was a great moment on the weekend to celebrate 20 years in business and take time to reflect on the journey - sometimes difficult but ultimately rewarding!

Firstly, there is an overall sense of thankfulness. Thankful to so many people that have cheered me on, that have inspired me, that have listened to me, that have been there to bounce ideas off, and now co-owners to hold me to account; they have all been a great part of the journey.

I honestly didn’t think the business would become the size it is today, I didn’t think that I would enjoy working with people that much, and that I would enjoy building teams that much, and that people would respond so well when you invest in them.

Whilst people in life can disappoint you, the buzz and the high from people when they pleasantly surprise and delight you far outweigh the disappointments.

I still enjoy the small business world and interacting with small business owners so much. It is tough at times and I empathise strongly, but still am captivated by the entrepreneur spirit and the possibilities it can bring.

I look forward to what the next twenty years will bring in business.
